This week started off with some soreness in the quads but gradually got better by Thursday. I had a good weekend of running and had a really good massage on Sunday. Looking forward to the last week before the race.

ahh the Taper! Here is one for you. Before my first marathon I was going nutty during the taper and the day prior to the race it was really nice weather so I thought "hey I'll go outside for a while and maybe help Dad out in the garden" Two hours later after repeated bending and weeding- Think eccentric hamstring contraction. I came back inside.
Then race day my hamstrings feel tired in teh first hour, by 19 miles they are cramping! ugh. awful...still have bad memories of that one which included a couple miles over 9:00 pace after coming thru 20 in 2:02.
OUCH! yea, attempting to use all the extra energy can get you in trouble real quick. My wife and I are facing a ton of yard work because I wouldn't do it prior to the marathon. Runners....
